Lost interest in MMORPG. DS however... (Permalink)
Topic: Gaming
Yup, just as I had figured. After I made my recent entry of playing in a MMORPG, I lost interest very shortly after. I realized a short while ago that I hadn't logged in to play the game for the entire month of July!

After tons of updates were downloaded and installed, I found that the game was impossible to play on my computer. The lag is beyond phenomenal! I tried to maneuver around but I finally gave up. It's all them mounts that people are jumping around with. It kills my computer. It also appears that the faction I was in had been abandoned or merged with another faction. I really have no idea. No one was on. Good thing I lost interest when I did. The idea of killing more and more monsters just makes me close the game down and find something else to do.

I've been more focused on my Nintendo DS lately. I've been trying to find some fun games to buy but even that list is very small. I avoid most of the 'brain' games. I was so disappointed with Brain Age 2. That got boring *fast*! I was following this incredibly long thread on Amazon: DS Games for Adult? I might try some of the games mentioned there.

 Playing on an MMORPG (Permalink)

Wizard Class in MMORPG

Yup, A screenshot of my character in action.

For the past month and some days, I've been playing on an MMORPG. My first ever... I didn't think I would last long but I reached level 50. My character is a wizard (Are you surprised? No? hehe.) and it's been a hard trip. When I first joined, I didn't want to be in any guilds right away but it really is hard to do certain quests by yourself. Having a guild really helps you out on your journey through the lands and various monsters.

I'm not sure how much longer I'll keep at this game. I'm starting to really loathe the idea of killing more and more monsters to level up. It's becoming rather repetitive... I was told to create a new character but the idea of doing everything all over again is even more scary. hehe.

Red Dragon from Microsoft Publisher 98 (Permalink)
Mood:  spacey
It's strange to look through the clip art gallery on this Microsoft Publisher 98 cd. This is where I got the dragon from for the beginning days of my website.

I changed the colors to suit me and it was basically the mascot of my website for a long time. Now it sits around as forgotten symbols on my blog. *smirks* How times change.

I'm both bored and creative. I've been thinking of using some of these horrible cliparts to add a whimsical feel to the website but I'm also way too bored to even start tinkering with HTML files. I don't think I'll ever make another big website again. It's something to think about though!

The Imp and the Cat (Permalink)
Topic: Story
Writer's Block - Write a Story with Words from a Word

Close your eyes! Open your dictionary. Slam your finger down anywhere. Open your eyes and see the word you randomly chose (Feel free to try again if there aren't enough letters in chosen word.). Using some or all of the letters of the word, create new words. After you have a list, write a few paragraphs using those words. Ready... Set... Go!

My word is: Implicate

Dang, there were too many words. I used most I could...

The Imp and the Cat

There once lived a mediocre Imp named Rot'n who only ever ate cats to satiate his hunger. Every cat made a dinky yet delicious meal for Rot'n. However, things would take a strange turn on this very day for this particular Imp.

While hunting with a mace made from dwarven metal, Rot'n spotted a very unusual cat. Its fur was all teal with lime-colored stripes. "Now that is a fine cat for me to feast upon!" declared Rot'n with a hoarse whisper as he shook his weapon towards the sky. Crouching down, he tip-toed over to the strange cat!

The cat was a smart one. His ear flickered, hearing the Imp close in. Suddenly the Imp leapt but the cat was quicker. The impact with the ground was tough for Rot'n to take and that was evident when the Imp groaned, "Curse you, cat!"

"And I curse you," replied the cat calmly, "you grotesque little monster."

"It speaks!" cried Rot'n.

"I have a name." The strange cat frowned as he straightened up on his two legs and crossed his arms, "I am Ace. Do go away. I am hunting mice and you are scaring them away."

Rot'n's heart was pounding as he asked himself many questions. Was the cat tame? Reminding himself to calm down, Rot'n stood up and shook his mace. "I will have you on a plate and eat you! And then I will use your fur as a pouch!"

Ace studied Rot'n's posture before he laughed, "I'm stunned! You use silverware? How very prim and proper for an Imp."

Rot'n made a gargling sound of frustration and pointed angrily at Ace, "You'll regret that! I'll get you!"

"Is that a fact, pal? Careful. I swear on the tail of my mother, I'll end your life where you stand," stated Ace with a hint of malice in his voice.

The imp and the cat were staring at each other, each gauging the other's battle stance. The tension in the air was so thick that it calls for a silly analogy to describe it in detail.

Rot'n could only imagine the mace moving in to impale the cat and seconds later, having the body cooking over a fire. Ace knew the imp was lame and it would only take a short demonstration to melt any courage the imp may have. Quickly the imp made his first move but Ace was still faster yet and Rot'n's poor aim didn't help either. Claws raked deeply across Rot'n's cheek causing him to scream in pain.

"You flower petal," came the insulting comment from Ace, "Get out of here!"

Rot'n's face was pale as he turned and fled, leaving behind one rather smug feline. Curse the fool who dare tangle with a strange teal and lime colored cat that could stand on its hind legs!

"That worked up quite a thirst. Perhaps I should visit Mabel for tea and pie while there's still time." mused Ace.

 Has spring come? (Permalink)
Topic: Miscellaneous
Is spring here? I guess so! hehe. Yesterday I took all the plants out of the greenhouse but... eh... I expect half of them to die. It's frustrating to forget to run the heater during some frozen nights. I was surprised at the snow that fell several times in the past few months! We don't get snow here. At all... if ever.

I'm just hoping I haven't lost any jade plants. It's part of why I tend to grow clippings even though I have little to no space for them. Some of the jade plants continue to shrivel away and don't show any signs of growing new leaves. I guess it's just a waiting game to see how many are still sticking around or eeked out a final 'goodbye cruel world!'.

I have an unhealthy obsession with the end of the world! December 21, 2012 - Mayan Calendar and all that jazz.

What brings this up? I found out that there is a movie coming out on November 13 titled: 2012

The trailer is phenomenal. I love it.

Fantasy Pod - Pod Central on Tripod (Permalink)
Mood:  a-ok
Topic: Tripod

A friend was looking over my site and asked about the Fantasy Pod thing on the front page. "Why do you keep them there?" I guess I like to keep things around that once were.

Tripod used to host something called Pods which were similar to clubs. Tripod pages signed up to join these Pods and it was Tripod's way of forming communities similar to how Geocities and FortuneCity had leaders that led their own communities or neighborhoods.

It was neat to get "Best of Pod". Hard to believe that was ten years ago!

As usual, Tripod just shuts things down and force members to use acquired products. I remember Tripod used to offer free guestbooks before they acquired Guestworld and told everyone to use it.

That's how Pod Central got shut down. Lycos had these weird clubs so Tripod shut down Pod Central and redirected everyone to the new clubs. I signed up for a club there and I couldn't quite figure out how to run it. It didn't last long though. Lycos had removed it.

That's an idea though. Tripod should return Pod Central and try to dig up the community again! ;)

Whew. Lots of trial and error and I'm still not done yet. It's been fun to see how far I can take this blog with customization and whatnot. I'm still not sure I'd update this blog but eh... At least it's around.

Cool

Testing image upload....

I wish I knew who made that ''dragon flaming knight'' image. It sat around on my zipdisks forever...
