Henry Hatsworth in The Puzzling Adventure (Permalink)
Topic: Gaming

I received this game for Christmas and I'll admit I thought it was one of those cheapy games that I'll play for a few minutes and toss aside. Besides Henry Hatsworth, I also got Harvest Moon: Frantic Farming and Populous. I tried HM:FF and got bored of it within minutes since all you do is move tiles around to create chains or whatever. I have not taken the shrinkwrap off Populous yet for fear that this game will be the same.

However... Henry Hatsworth... This game is difficult yet addictive. I think at first glance, a lot of people will assume it's a puzzle game but it's not. It's more of a Mario game but you have to switch to a puzzle format in the bottom screen to move blocks around and make matches. You can't ignore the puzzle because the monsters you attack in the top screen will fall down and become a block. If you don't take care of the monsters in the puzzle screen, they'll come back to haunt you in the top screen as a difficult flying block.

I was having fun with this game until I hit level 3-6 which is a boss named The Captain. He's this really old man who has a huge nurse which uses him as a weapon. Pretty hilarious but it wears off fast! I did finally beat this level and now I'm slowly, very slowly, working through the Puzzle Realm. It's a little difficult but the levels are extremely long. When I die a few times, I just turn the game off.

I think ultimately I won't be able to complete this game. The addictiveness long wore off when I was stuck dealing with the Atlantia Boss. Still fun though... to some degree. ;)

Winter Build Competition 2009 - Winter World (Permalink)
Topic: Active Worlds
Gingerbread Train!

For the contest, I chose to build a Gingerbread Train and Station!

How the contest works is that you're given six candy pieces to use. You're allowed to scale them, re-texture them, etc... I figured I'd go with a gingerbread theme just to have some fun.

It's pretty much a mishmash of stuff thrown together but the inside looks pretty neat. If you're bored enough to want to see it in person:

 Roleplaying in Geocities Chat (Permalink)
Topic: Miscellaneous
You know, once every three or four blue moons, I'll catch myself missing the old days of when I first got on the internet in 1997 when it was all so new, bright, and exciting. All that surfing for the search to find an awesome chatroom. I remember the very first chat I entered too. ( ) However, the most awesome chat was Area 51 at Geocities chat. I did a lot of roleplaying there. It was a cycle there. Groups would disband and move on, then a new group would form with a bunch of new players. I was there for several of them. The messenger of choice was ICQ. Everyone had personal homepages at Geocities... except for me. I went to Tripod because of one roleplayer.

Now it's all blogs and social networking. The internet isn't bright and awesome as it was but I guess when you get older, it seems like everything is coming to an end while the kids today are finding it all new, bright, and awesome. ;)

Nintendo DSi LL & Monster Finder (Permalink)
Topic: Gaming
Wow.. Maybe it's a good thing I waited.

Nintendo DSi LL

This version seems to be quite a bit larger than the DSi and DS lite.

Not only that but there's a DSi - exclusive game coming out as well.

Professor Layton and the Curious Village (Permalink)
Mood:  not sure
Topic: Gaming

I hated the game. I wish I could understand why it was popular. I thought the game would be like solving puzzles related to the mystery, trying to work your way through to find out what was going on.

Instead the puzzles were pretty much in the 'WTF?' category. PL&TCV was really just a book of random puzzles that had nothing to do with the story. I struggled through the game but I could only do two or three puzzles in one sitting before I got extremely bored and moved on.

I did finally finish it though... and sold it to someone else for $20. I don't plan on getting the sequel; Professor Layton and The Diabolical Box.

 Photo Album (Permalink)
Topic: Tripod
I logged into Tripod and decided to fart around with the photo album feature they have.

Photo Album

I took some pictures around Active Worlds and uploaded them to see how the feature works. It's interesting, I guess! I wish it was a little more organized or something but I guess that's something I'll deal with when I'm bored. hehe.

Lost interest in MMORPG. DS however... (Permalink)
Topic: Gaming
Yup, just as I had figured. After I made my recent entry of playing in a MMORPG, I lost interest very shortly after. I realized a short while ago that I hadn't logged in to play the game for the entire month of July!

After tons of updates were downloaded and installed, I found that the game was impossible to play on my computer. The lag is beyond phenomenal! I tried to maneuver around but I finally gave up. It's all them mounts that people are jumping around with. It kills my computer. It also appears that the faction I was in had been abandoned or merged with another faction. I really have no idea. No one was on. Good thing I lost interest when I did. The idea of killing more and more monsters just makes me close the game down and find something else to do.

I've been more focused on my Nintendo DS lately. I've been trying to find some fun games to buy but even that list is very small. I avoid most of the 'brain' games. I was so disappointed with Brain Age 2. That got boring *fast*! I was following this incredibly long thread on Amazon: DS Games for Adult? I might try some of the games mentioned there.

 Playing on an MMORPG (Permalink)

Wizard Class in MMORPG

Yup, A screenshot of my character in action.

For the past month and some days, I've been playing on an MMORPG. My first ever... I didn't think I would last long but I reached level 50. My character is a wizard (Are you surprised? No? hehe.) and it's been a hard trip. When I first joined, I didn't want to be in any guilds right away but it really is hard to do certain quests by yourself. Having a guild really helps you out on your journey through the lands and various monsters.

I'm not sure how much longer I'll keep at this game. I'm starting to really loathe the idea of killing more and more monsters to level up. It's becoming rather repetitive... I was told to create a new character but the idea of doing everything all over again is even more scary. hehe.

Red Dragon from Microsoft Publisher 98 (Permalink)
Mood:  spacey
It's strange to look through the clip art gallery on this Microsoft Publisher 98 cd. This is where I got the dragon from for the beginning days of my website.

I changed the colors to suit me and it was basically the mascot of my website for a long time. Now it sits around as forgotten symbols on my blog. *smirks* How times change.

I'm both bored and creative. I've been thinking of using some of these horrible cliparts to add a whimsical feel to the website but I'm also way too bored to even start tinkering with HTML files. I don't think I'll ever make another big website again. It's something to think about though!
