Active Worlds - Mystery Location guessed (Permalink)
Wow! Mystery Location in the ActiveWorlds newsletter is revealed and it turns out that I won! A free month was credited to my citizenship. Very awesome!

(Oh, quick note. Most of the links below only work on IE and if you have Active Worlds browser open. They'll teleport you to the exact location.)

July's Mystery Location

This spot is near R Town's GZ. It's looking over the side of Riff's Space Museum Planetarium.

R Town also has a Wiki page: R-Town on Active Wiki.

Channeling - The Dragon's Breath

Now level 63 Wizard for Perfect World. The FB/BH runs are a bit annoying. By the time I channel and send out a spell, the monster is killed. At least I'm of some use when we reach the bosses. That is until I do too much damage and the suckers come chasing after me and I keep hearing that wizards are the most squishiest of classes. :p

ActiveWorlds, Active Worlds

Pretty much slowing down in ActiveWorlds. Built dinky homes so far... Making the landscape takes a lot of time. By the time I get the area set up, I don't feel any creativity coming through in making houses or buildings...

Level 53 Wizard in Perfect World

A month later, I'm still playing the game. Not only that but I reached level 53. So now anything beyond here is brand new. It'll be weird. However, I am starting to feel the boredom seeping in.

I've been playing around in Active Worlds for a little while too.

Building on Alpha World in ActiveWorlds

Looks like crap but hey... hehe. Hope Riff won't be too annoyed.

I recently found out that a friend of mine was playing on the same MMORPG that I played in last year. I told her, "Oh yeah, I was a level 50 wizard for a month in June last year and got sick of killing monsters by the thousands and all... quit the game... moved on."

She said that she absolutely would love to have a wizard on her team but I was not willing to go back in. I am sick of the game. After some prodding, I finally loaded the game. It turns out that we were on different servers and it wasn't possible to have the characters to change servers.

There it is. A new wizard on another server. I actually don't see myself playing this for very long! I killed twenty monsters and already I could feel the "Oh man, not another monster." boredom coming on.

It was very nostalgic though. The running around, hearing the music play, etc... It reminded me of all that battling I did in order to catch up with a few friends before they left the game and went their own ways.

Dragon in Active Worlds?

Hmm, not sure I like him all that much... Probably will do some more tinkering later but I'm giving up at the moment.

 Yuku Profile Craziness (Permalink)
Mood:  not sure
Topic: Miscellaneous

I think I will be copying over blog posts from my Yuku profile. Yuku is working on a new profile format and I guess it has changed things because the spaces between my "Blue Green Gem" username is now forced. It gave me a mild heart attack when it kept telling me my username didn't exist. Now I'll have to form a habit where I type my username with spaces instead of as one word.

This allowed me to register "BlueGreenGem" when I discovered that. Very weird. Yuku says that everything will be copied over when the time comes but I think I'll just copy some of the posts over to this blog just to be on the safe side.

I wonder why spaces are forced now. Seems very wonky right now so we'll see how it goes.

As it stands right now, This is my Yuku Profile: Blue Green Gem
This is the new username and has been converted: BlueGreenGem

The converted profile is very confusing to work with. Hopefully it gets smoothed out before they force it on all of us.

 Henry Hatsworth (Permalink)
Topic: Gaming

I can say I'm finally done with Henry Hatsworth. I didn't beat it but I'm at that point where I'm just done with it. I reached the last world, Tealand, but I can't make it beyond 5-1. I've tried and tried - even watched a youtube video to prepare myself for what's coming up but I keep dying and I'm done! hehe. It was a fun game but brutal and cruel.

A friend and I have been stomping all through the Internet Archive Wayback Machine. We glanced at tons and tons of old sites. I think one that I found the most interesting was this 1996 cached version of Geocities! Area 51 Neighborhood. I came along in 1997 so I recall this 1998 cached version of Area 51. Man, brings back memories...

Henry Hatsworth in The Puzzling Adventure (Permalink)
Topic: Gaming

I received this game for Christmas and I'll admit I thought it was one of those cheapy games that I'll play for a few minutes and toss aside. Besides Henry Hatsworth, I also got Harvest Moon: Frantic Farming and Populous. I tried HM:FF and got bored of it within minutes since all you do is move tiles around to create chains or whatever. I have not taken the shrinkwrap off Populous yet for fear that this game will be the same.

However... Henry Hatsworth... This game is difficult yet addictive. I think at first glance, a lot of people will assume it's a puzzle game but it's not. It's more of a Mario game but you have to switch to a puzzle format in the bottom screen to move blocks around and make matches. You can't ignore the puzzle because the monsters you attack in the top screen will fall down and become a block. If you don't take care of the monsters in the puzzle screen, they'll come back to haunt you in the top screen as a difficult flying block.

I was having fun with this game until I hit level 3-6 which is a boss named The Captain. He's this really old man who has a huge nurse which uses him as a weapon. Pretty hilarious but it wears off fast! I did finally beat this level and now I'm slowly, very slowly, working through the Puzzle Realm. It's a little difficult but the levels are extremely long. When I die a few times, I just turn the game off.

I think ultimately I won't be able to complete this game. The addictiveness long wore off when I was stuck dealing with the Atlantia Boss. Still fun though... to some degree. ;)
