Characters Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) - Who else? Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint) - Harry's friend. Hermione Granger (Emma Watson) - Harry's friend. Rubeus Hagrid (Robbie Coltrane) - A very large 'giant', Keeper of the Keys and Grounds at Hogwarts. Albus Dumbledore (Richard Harris) - Dumbledore is the Headmaster of Hogwarts. Minerva McGonagall (Maggie Smith) - Deputy Headmaster, Transfiguration Teacher, and Head of Gryffindor House. Severus Snape (Alan Rickman) - Potions Master and Head of Slytherin House. Gilderoy Lockhart (Kenneth Branagh) - The new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, a vain man with claims of many stories that has made him famous. Draco Malfoy (Tom Felton) - Student in Slytherin House with a real grudge against Harry Potter and his friends.

Summary
The movie begins with Harry Potter receiving the same abuse which proves that the Dursley's have not changed. Sent off to his new room, Dudley's old room while his Uncle and Aunt entertain people, Harry meets Dobby who is a house-elf who has come to warn Harry of danger.

Dobby causes trouble when Harry refuses to promise that he won't go to Hogwarts. Dobby then asks Harry why he would want to go to Hogwarts if his friends never wrote to him. This makes Harry suspicious as he learns that Dobby has been keeping letters that his friends wrote.

After Dobby causes trouble that causes bars to be put on Harry's bedroom windows, Guess who comes to his rescue in a flying magic car? Ron and his brothers! Harry is whisked away to the Weasley's home where Mrs. Weasley treats him with love but at the same time is disciplining the three boys for their stunt!

While trying to access Platform 9 and 3/4, Harry and Ron find themselves unable to pass through, thus forcing them to use the flying car to follow the Hogwart's Express to the school in which they have a little problem and crash into a certain whomping willow tree. Finally in Hogwarts, the boys were caught by Snape and punished by McGonagall.

Dobby wasn't lying when Flinch's cat was petrified and written on the wall was a message saying, "The Chamber of Secrets has been opened." What also has been discovered was Harry could speak parselmouth (snake language). With more incidents happening and children being petrified, even Harry's friends begin to look at him with doubt as if he could be a direct descendent of Salazar Slytherin since he was able to speak parselmouth.

Suddenly, Hermione has been petrified.

With much more happening, Finally Harry and Ron discover the path to the Chamber of Secrets, forcing Lockhart to come with. Due to problems causing Lockhart to forget who he is and leaving Ron behind, Harry once again must continue on his own in which he discovers Ginny, Ron's sister, and coming face to face with Tom Riddle. Tom Riddle turns out to be Voldemort when he was 16 years old, using the journal as a way to keep himself there.

It turns out that Tom Riddle was a direct descendent of Salazar Slytherin and was able to control the basilisk. Through help with Dumbledore's phoenix and the sorting hat, Harry once again comes through and saves all of Hogwarts.
