Characters Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) - Who else? Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint) - Harry's friend. Hermione Granger (Emma Watson) - A bookworm that aggravated Harry and Ron in the beginning. Rubeus Hagrid (Robbie Coltrane) - A very large 'giant', Keeper of the Keys and Grounds at Hogwarts. Albus Dumbledore (Richard Harris) - Dumbledore is the Headmaster of Hogwarts. Minerva McGonagall (Maggie Smith) - Deputy Headmaster, Transfiguration Teacher, and Head of Gryffindor House. Professor Snape (Alan Rickman) - Potions Master and Head of Slytherin House. Professor Quirrel (Ian Hart) - A stuttering professor. Defense Against the Dark Arts Teacher. Draco Malfoy (Tom Felton) - Student in Slytherin House with a real grudge against Harry Potter and his friends.

Summary
We learn that Harry Potter is mistreated as he lives in a cupboard beneath the stairs. The movie starts with Dudley Dursley's birthday in which a situation happens at the zoo in which Harry Potter has released a snake and accidentally trapped his cousin in the snake's exhibit.

With Harry getting many letters from a group of owls that grow over time since they have gotten no response from Harry, Uncle Vernon snaps and drags the entire family to what appears to be a castle surrounded by the sea. There, a large giant by the name of Hagrid makes an appearance.

Harry begins to learn what his uncle and aunt has been keeping from him. He's a wizard! Not only that but his parents were wizards as well and were killed by 'he-who-must-not-be-named', In other words... A wizard named Voldemort that left a mark on Harry's Forehead.

With Hagrid's help, Harry goes to Hogwarts but before he arrives, He meets Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger on the train. Once he's sorted into Gryffindor House, Harry and his friends begin to learn about something strange. A troll is let into Hogwarts, a very large three-headed dog named "Fluffy" by Hagrid is guarding something, and they feel that Snape is helping Voldemort to go after something that they later learn is the sorcerer's stone!

When the time comes and the gang learns of all the facts, They head in through the door that Fluffy is guarding and go through all the traps and enchantments which left Harry having to go on by himself. To his surprise, he learns that it's not Snape.. but Professor Quirrel that wants the stone. Being forced to look into the mirror, Harry retrieves the stone. Once Quirrel tried to go after him, Harry discovers his touch harms and burns at Quirrel, Quirrel fell apart to ash leaving one angry Voldemort in spirit to flee.

Once waking in bed after, Harry learns that when his mother died defending him, it left a mark (not the one on his forehead) which explained why Quirrel couldn't stand Harry's touch. The Sorcerer's Stone had to be destroyed.

This adventure surely brought a tight bond between Harry, Ron, and especially Hermione.
