The Extreme Builder Talent Show IV (Permalink)

EBTS IV

EBTS4 started yesterday and runs til January 31st. I snagged up a lot but as you can see, it's pretty empty right now. Taking a few minutes to adjust to the new world. It's a 6x6 lot and anything goes!

The prizes don't really interest me this time around (I don't win anything at these events anyways so...). They're worlds of various sizes given to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.

I most likely will end up doing one of my PDL Builds. "Pure Dumb Luck" where I just tinker and tinker and something forms out of the mess. hehe.

2010 Holiday Village in Winter - Bakery (Permalink)
Mood:  caffeinated
Now Playing: Lucky Star by Prima Donna (Tim Dawes remix)
Topic: Active Worlds
A couple days ago, I decided to finally take up one of the contest lots. I didn't want to do the train station and I was split between the toy store and bakery. I finally decided to do the bakery. I did lots of searching on Google's image search to find various bakeries.

I don't think I'm done with it. I keep walking around because it feels like I've missed something. Contest doesn't end for a while so I can just keep tinkering with it when ideas come.

Activeworlds - Holiday village in Winter (Permalink)
I guess it's that time of year again. There's a Holiday Village contest in Winter world on Activeworlds. I built on a lot but I don't think it's one of the lots that would win a prize. I had fun tinkering with it though. Not sure if I'm done but I think I got everything as I possibly can.

 A Quick Glimpse

It's all fun and games till someone loses an arm.

Don't they look lovely?

Glimpse of bedroom

That's what I slapped together. I am incredibly thankful that the 'scale' feature exists. That makes it tons easy to resize objects to make everything fit and to create new stuff.

Ah, and a quick glimpse of when I started - and almost ready to call it quits because they were horribly pieced together!

Active Worlds

I took a quick break from landscaping and started working on a building. Even though I get ideas, they really don't flesh out well when I'm building. Sometimes something new pops up or I take a different path... It's just all like playing with clay. I have no set goal. I just have a little idea and hope it comes out okay. hehe.

PWI

The guild has been quiet for a few weeks now. Sort of. Either that or I'm coming on at the wrong times. Some members keep saying that the leaders rarely pop on anymore and that they're off playing other games. I know they played Battle of Immortals and all but eh... All I have done lately is go in to do the daily Crazy Stone quest and now I'm pretty much running out of money so I won't be surprised if I forget to log in eventually. Just like last year... hehe.

 Old Tripod Message Boards (Permalink)
Mood:  surprised
Topic: Tripod
I was looking through disks for screenshots when I came across a folder that contained old copies of the message boards that Tripod used to host! It was a huge surprise because I've looked for these message boards quite a few times over the years but my searches came up empty.

To come across them was like... wow. I thought they were just gone or that I had them on a disk that disappeared. I uploaded the messages to FG Archives.

Active Worlds - Mystery Location guessed (Permalink)
Wow! Mystery Location in the ActiveWorlds newsletter is revealed and it turns out that I won! A free month was credited to my citizenship. Very awesome!

(Oh, quick note. Most of the links below only work on IE and if you have Active Worlds browser open. They'll teleport you to the exact location.)

July's Mystery Location

This spot is near R Town's GZ. It's looking over the side of Riff's Space Museum Planetarium.

R Town also has a Wiki page: R-Town on Active Wiki.

Channeling - The Dragon's Breath

Now level 63 Wizard for Perfect World. The FB/BH runs are a bit annoying. By the time I channel and send out a spell, the monster is killed. At least I'm of some use when we reach the bosses. That is until I do too much damage and the suckers come chasing after me and I keep hearing that wizards are the most squishiest of classes. :p

ActiveWorlds, Active Worlds

Pretty much slowing down in ActiveWorlds. Built dinky homes so far... Making the landscape takes a lot of time. By the time I get the area set up, I don't feel any creativity coming through in making houses or buildings...

Level 53 Wizard in Perfect World

A month later, I'm still playing the game. Not only that but I reached level 53. So now anything beyond here is brand new. It'll be weird. However, I am starting to feel the boredom seeping in.

I've been playing around in Active Worlds for a little while too.

Building on Alpha World in ActiveWorlds

Looks like crap but hey... hehe. Hope Riff won't be too annoyed.

I recently found out that a friend of mine was playing on the same MMORPG that I played in last year. I told her, "Oh yeah, I was a level 50 wizard for a month in June last year and got sick of killing monsters by the thousands and all... quit the game... moved on."

She said that she absolutely would love to have a wizard on her team but I was not willing to go back in. I am sick of the game. After some prodding, I finally loaded the game. It turns out that we were on different servers and it wasn't possible to have the characters to change servers.

There it is. A new wizard on another server. I actually don't see myself playing this for very long! I killed twenty monsters and already I could feel the "Oh man, not another monster." boredom coming on.

It was very nostalgic though. The running around, hearing the music play, etc... It reminded me of all that battling I did in order to catch up with a few friends before they left the game and went their own ways.

Dragon in Active Worlds?

Hmm, not sure I like him all that much... Probably will do some more tinkering later but I'm giving up at the moment.
