20th Anniversary of Website (Permalink)Mood: a-ok
Now Playing: La Luna - When The Morning Comes
Geez, is it already 2018? Hard to believe that I created this webpage during the chat and personal homepage craze back then. These days it's all social media!
I'm surprised Tripod is still going when other sites have shut down. I don't know. I'm impressed.
I thought I'd have something more impressive to say for a 20th anniversary...

15 Year Anniversary (Permalink)Mood: a-ok
Now Playing: Katie Melua - Nine Million Bicycles
Looks like I missed the anniversary by two days.
1998 - 2013
15 years. 15 years. And this site is still sitting around in some shape or form even though no one visits it anymore.
I'm also surprised this blog feature hasn't been shut down. It seems everything else is gone, even the HTMLgear guestbook I used to have.
Ah, well. Here's to 15 more years...

Tripod locks down. (Permalink)
Tripod made an announcement today. Free members can no longer use FTP or File Manager. In order to keep building your site, you have to use their Webon feature.
EDIT: Ah, looks like they added a new sentence to the bottom explaining that this affects only new members that signed up after the 23rd. Earlier members get to keep their FTP/FM. That's good news!

EBTS4 - Progress (Permalink)Now Playing: Zoë Badwis - Freefallin'
Topic: Active Worlds
I realized the world didn't have a default groundcover so I was able to go down a bit below ground. After thinking about it, I figured it'd be neat to have a little waterfall come down and have some buildings around it. It's the details that's going to be a pain, I'm sure.
I have to break up the one room houses with walls, toss in furniture to make each room, etc... What I'm currently unhappy with is how 'unnaturesy' it is. I was hoping to weasel in more trees and plants. I guess I just gotta stick more around the area.

The Extreme Builder Talent Show IV (Permalink)
EBTS4 started yesterday and runs til January 31st. I snagged up a lot but as you can see, it's pretty empty right now. Taking a few minutes to adjust to the new world. It's a 6x6 lot and anything goes!
The prizes don't really interest me this time around (I don't win anything at these events anyways so...). They're worlds of various sizes given to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.
I most likely will end up doing one of my PDL Builds. "Pure Dumb Luck" where I just tinker and tinker and something forms out of the mess. hehe.

2010 Holiday Village in Winter - Bakery (Permalink)Mood: caffeinated
Now Playing: Lucky Star by Prima Donna (Tim Dawes remix)
Topic: Active Worlds
A couple days ago, I decided to finally take up one of the contest lots. I didn't want to do the train station and I was split between the toy store and bakery. I finally decided to do the bakery. I did lots of searching on Google's image search to find various bakeries.
I don't think I'm done with it. I keep walking around because it feels like I've missed something. Contest doesn't end for a while so I can just keep tinkering with it when ideas come.

Activeworlds - Holiday village in Winter (Permalink)I guess it's that time of year again. There's a Holiday Village contest in Winter world on Activeworlds. I built on a lot but I don't think it's one of the lots that would win a prize. I had fun tinkering with it though. Not sure if I'm done but I think I got everything as I possibly can.
That's what I slapped together. I am incredibly thankful that the 'scale' feature exists. That makes it tons easy to resize objects to make everything fit and to create new stuff.
Ah, and a quick glimpse of when I started - and almost ready to call it quits because they were horribly pieced together!
